How I Got Here

Hi, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m an artist, just like you - and I know firsthand how exciting (and sometimes exhausting) it can be to run an art business. Between social media, online shops, websites, inventory, and email newsletters… there’s a lot to juggle.

While all these tools offer incredible ways to share and sell our work beyond the traditional gallery model, they can also feel overwhelming - especially when all you really want is time in the studio.

Why I Started The Coordinated Canvas

That’s exactly why I created The Coordinated Canvas—a space where artists can find support, systems, and sanity while building their creative businesses.

Over the years, I’ve learned (often through trial and error) how to find balance between the creative and the practical. And along the way, I discovered something surprising: I actually like organizing, planning, and putting systems in place—the very things many artists find frustrating or time-consuming.

A Bit About Me

Before becoming a full-time artist, I spent over 20 years as a certified art teacher, running a busy art room on my own. Even earlier, I worked as a bookkeeper and business manager for small companies.

That mix of experience gives me a unique perspective: I understand the artistic process, but I also know how to run a business. I still actively create and sell my own work, but now I also support other artists in doing the same.
